The Sylvan Smith Policy
Shipping:
All shipping rates are automatically calculated at checkout. Items will be shipped 3-5 business days from receipt of payment.
I am not responsible for lost or stolen packages.
For international shipping, all duties taxes or other fees are the responsibility of the purchaser.
Please be aware that due to US laws it is required that items of a greater value than $400 USD are to be shipped Priority International Mail.
Check your countries import policies, fees, duties, and restrictions before purchasing.
Values are based on purchase price and cannot be altered.
Custom Orders:
Custom orders require an up front payment in full and include a non-refundable deposit of 50%. Due to the nature of custom orders, once the design is agreed upon and the order is placed, no changes or modifications will be accepted. Also, cancellation after the order is placed will forfeit the deposit and the piece remains the property of The Sylvan Smith.
COVID-19:
Please check your countries policies regarding receiving international packages before buying.
Be aware that it may affect the time it takes to receive a package, this is outside of The Sylvan Smith's control.
Care:
Instructions for maintaining your item are included with each purchase (see below). Failure to properly maintain your item may void the warranty.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS: ( For more in-depth instructions see the Jewelry Care tab)
-Keep away from harsh chemicals (such as perfumes, sprays and other cosmetics), as this can affect the metal, patina and stones.
-Avoid long term exposure to direct sunlight, as this can affect the stones colour.
-Refrain from showering, swimming, hand washing with jewelry. Store in a dry area, preferably in an airtight bag, as most cardboard jewelry boxes contain sulfur, which can tarnish the metal.
-Each order includes a polishing pad. When polishing, do not polish on blackened areas as this will remove the patina.
-When cleaning jewelry make sure to only use mild soap and water and gently clean the surface with a soft bristle toothbrush. Do not clean jewelry in commercial jewelry cleaning solutions as it is too harsh and will affect the overall piece including more porous gems.
Warranty:
This warranty extends to defects in workmanship only for a period of 30 days. Damage from daily use, accidents, or lack of proper maintenance are not covered.
Returns:
No returns will be accepted for the following reasons:
- Incorrect size ordered.
- Damage incurred after receipt of item.
- Failure to maintain item properly.
Items can only be returned if the incorrect item were shipped, or for defects in workmanship as covered under the warranty. Items must be returned with all original packaging. Repair or refund for items is at the discretion of the Sylvan Smith.
