Dragon Rider - Sterling silver

Dragons are ancient, mythical creatures that have woven their way into the folklore and legends of cultures across the globe. In European myths, they are often depicted as mighty, fire-breathing beasts, hoarding treasure in their secret lairs and standing as fierce adversaries to humans. These legendary creatures dominate medieval tales, like the famous story of Saint George slaying the fearsome dragon.

Dragons also make their mark in Scottish heraldry. Though the Red Dragon of Wales is more widely known, Scotland too has embraced the dragon as a symbol of its strength and ancient legacy. These powerful creatures appear in the country’s coats of arms and banners, representing nobility, resilience, and the magical history that courses through the land.

Inspired by the enchanting worlds within the books I've been lost in lately, I began crafting this piece with a vision of gothic and medieval imagery swirling in my mind. The dark, mysterious allure of ancient castles, shadowed forests, and forgotten realms guided my design, as I sought to bring forth the timeless magic of these eras. Each detail is meant to evoke a sense of otherworldly beauty, where the eerie and the majestic intertwine, drawing from the depths of myth and legend.   

Each design is hand-drawn with intent and care. From there, it is brought to life, meticulously cut by hand with a jeweler’s saw from a sheet of Sterling silver. The pieces are then soldered together, before being carefully sanded, patinaed, and polished to a soft, matte finish. Every step in this process infuses the piece with magic, creating a unique treasure imbued with craftsmanship and the spirit of creation.

Care Instructions:

• Keep your magical jewels away from harsh chemicals, perfumes, sprays, and cosmetics can dull their otherworldly sheen, tarnish the metal, and alter the delicate patina of the stones.

• Shield your gems from prolonged exposure to the sun’s fiery gaze, as it may cause the colors of your stones to fade.

• Avoid wearing your enchanted pieces while washing your hands, bathing, swimming. To preserve their charm, store them in a dry safe place, an airtight pouch or box will keep their magic intact, protected from the elements.

• Each order comes with a polishing pad, use it to restore your treasures’ glow. But beware: avoid polishing the blackened areas, as this will erase the patina.
